Christmas 2010

It’s hard to believe that Christmas came and went so fast. You’re really getting so big Aeowyn. We recently took you to the doctor and found out that you are 90% for height – so you’re a big girl! Even though you are only 6 months – you are wearing 9 to 12 months clothing.

December has been a really busy month getting ready for the holidays. Everyone in the house had a stomach virus and you got that + a cold as well over the holidays – but you recovered great!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year – the best ever in fact! In fact, it was your 1st Christmas!!! All of our family was here to celebrate. For Christmas eve, we had dinner at Ammuma and Thatha’s house. Grandma and grandpa and some of your aunts and uncles came over as well. On Christmas day, mommy and daddy, grandma and grandpa were here to greet you, Talin and Rohin when you awoke to find all of the presents that Santa had left for you! You fell asleep in the beginning of opening presents and weren’t too excited about presents at this age – but you liked the wrapping paper and toys that made noises. You received many wonderful toys and clothes. Your favorite toy was a Magenta pink dog that you love to bite on. You also have two little teeth on your lower jaw now and love to chew on things.

In other news, you’re sleeping pretty well at night now and get up at one time at night – around 1pm. You’re eating three stage 2 meals a day and drink your milk still. Mommy and still feeding you once a day as well! You love your vegetables and breakfast but not a big meat / dinner eater. You’re quite the talker and love to make high pitched noises and fuss when you’re not around your brothers or mommy or daddy. You can really hold youself up on your hands and we think you will crawl very soon! You love tummy time and have so much fun rolling around. You have such pretty eyes and the jury is out as to whether they are brown or hazel yet. But you are such an adorable little baby girl and so sweet!

2011 going to be an awesome year and mommy and daddy look forward to seeing you grow and develop Aeowyn. Happy new year our little girl!

Thanksgiving 2010

Aeowyn our cute little girl, you’re such a sweet angel of a baby girl. You’re about 6 months now and are really becoming quite advanced. You’re always smiling at people and so delightful. The big news recently is that you started sleeping through the night (almost). This was a pretty big milestone that mommy can finally get a full night’s sleep after three years. You now eat three meals a day and are a big green bean fan. We also have you on meats now like turkey and rice (baby food of course). Mommy is still breast feeing you, which is keeping you nice and strong. You’ve been in pretty good health, but did have a urinary tract infection recently, which required us to take you back to the hospital. But you’re back in great shape.

You’re developing so fast now and not only smile, but you also laugh out loud – particularly if mommy or daddy play peek-a-boo. You love your bouncey but now love to be in a saucer. You are the type of little girl that doe not want to miss out on the action. You roll around all over your crib now when we put you down but your sleep schedule is becoming more consistent. You like to sleep around 6:30 and sleep till about 6:30 (sometimes waking up once). You also like to nap when your brothers do around 1 to 2pm. Your brothers love you so much and come over and pat you on your head. On the toy front, you’re really into rattles right now and mommy and daddy are trying to read books to you – which you seem to enjoy and look at. You seem to love TV at night when your brothers are watching things like freshbeat band or Dora.

We had a great 1st Thanksgiving together as a family and went to ammuma and tata’s house. We had guests during that time, including Chris Uncle and Maria Auntie along with their two children Ava and Layla. Thanksgiving was so wonderful with about 30 people came for Thanksgiving and it was so nice – all friends and family.

Also, we’re in high gear for Christmas and this past weekend, all of us went and got our Christmas tree. We went to this place that not only had trees but farm animals that your brothers got to feed and pet. I think you loved watching them but are too little to bring into the pen with us! So off mommy went to get the tree with you while daddy, Rohin and Talin went to play with the farm animals. We put up the Christmas tree and you just loved staring at it. We cannot wait to celebrate your 1st Christmas Aeowyen. You’re such a wonderful little girl and like we wrote in your brothers post – it’s so hard to believe what Christmas was like before mommy and daddy were blessed with you three in our lives.

Baptism and Accidents

Well Aeowyn -- it's been a very crazy October. Mommy and daddy had a big scare of the weekend when mommy was carrying you and she stepped into a floor vent that gave way. You hit your little head on the floor and daddy and mommy rushed you to the hospital. It was a very scarey evening and we were so worried about you. When you were in the emergency room in Reston, they ordered a CT scan that showed a little bleeding in your brain on the left temporal side. They then ordered an ambulance to come and take you to Fairfax hospital -- (see attached picture). When we go there, you were all smiles and talked, purred and just your delightful self. They kept you overnight at the hospital where mommy and daddy slept next to you to watch over you. We both kept getting up all night to look after you and make sure you were ok. You were then released the next day and got to go home to see your brothers. This was definitely one of the scariest moments in mommy and daddy's lives and we're so blessed by God that you're safe.

In other news this month, we actually had your baptism in early October. We had all of your grandparents, aunties and uncles, and your godparents (Nisha, Ahmeet, and Veena) come to Denton where you daddy was baptised. Grandpa did the baptism and you were so calm through the whole ceremony. Afterwards, we all went over to the Narrows on Kent Island for lunch, where you were a little cranky because you were so sleepy. Little did we know that baptism would come in handy just about two weeks later! Not only did God bless us when he gave you to us Aeowyn, but he blessed you and watches over you.

Otherwise, you're about 13 lbs now and growing like a weed. you love to purr like a little kitten and squeak. You also have started trying to roll and roll on your side in your crib. Mommy is still nursing you up to five times a day and also introduced you to other foods aside from rice cereal -- and you seem to really love carrots at this point. Sometimes you get frustrated if mommy doesn't put the food in your mouth fast enough. In terms of sleeping, you're still not sleeping through the night and get up around midnight and 4:30am. You normally go to sleep around 7pm in your bouncy chair and love to hear mommy say"va va Vaa".

Talin and Rohin are very loving to you. Sometimes Talin puts his head in your lap to hug you and Rohin will come over and pet you on the head. You've definitely touched all of our lives in just 4 months of joining this world. We love you Aeowyn so much!

Eating Solids!

This was a big week for you Aeowyn! On September 27th, mommy gave you your first taste of rice cereal! It seems to be a hit and while you made a funny face, you ate it very well! Mommy and daddy are so proud of you! You also started to be more consistent about getting up once at night. You like to feed around 10pm, again between 2:30 - 3pm, and then up at 6:30. You're drinking about 6 oz. of milk per feeding now. This past week, you also lifted up your head while laying down on your tummy and look up now when people walk into your room. You smile SO much when people talk to you and seem to make a little meowing noise when you're in your crib by yourself.

The weather is starting to finally turn now Aeowyn -- it's in the 70s with cooler temperatures at night. For some reason, we've had a ton of "stink bugs" that have been flocking to our house -- so you often hear both your brother pointing out all the bugs in the house.

That's it for now little girl! We love you!

Almost 3 Months Already!

Well our wonderful little girl, you are now almost 3 months old and such an incredible daughter! You have changed so much in two months. You're 90th percentile in height and have already outgrown 3 month old clothing in length!

You love so smile so much now and follow things that move now with your beautiful eyes. Since the last month we updated your blog, we had a really big flood in our back yard! It was almost waist deep in our backyard and our home was an island -- surrounded by floods. This happened on August 18, 2010 -- the day before mommy and daddy's 3rd anniversary.

Aeowyn, you have the prettiest eyes! They look like your mommy's eyes -- but we're not sure yet if you are going to have brown eyes or green eyes still! You love to be held so much and also want to be where the action is -- particularly if you know your brothers are eating -- you want to be in the kitchen with them.

Also, we had your first visit to the farm to see grandma and grandpa. We got to the farm just hours before they got back from a two week trip to Eygpt and Israel. They were so happy to see you Aeowyn! You spent lots of time being held by grandma and grandpa! Speaking of grandparents -- Ammuma comes over and loves to visit you and hold you!

Also recently, you've been taking walks into the Creek next to our house with your little brothers. Mommy carries you in the sling -- so even at this age -- you're quite the little wilderness girl!

You're so alert now Aeowyn and always smile and take everything in. You also stared cooing this past week, like you're trying to really hold a conversion with you. Sleeping wise, you still wake up twice per night -- at 12:30am and 3am.

Your first ever fall is coming soon! We're so lucky to have you as our daughter Aeowyn and love you so much!

It's July Already!

Well baby girl, you're 6 weeks old tomorrow and have grown so fast. Last time you went for your well baby check, you were 8 lbs, 9 ounces. You're such a sweet little girl and love to be held. You turn your head on your own and to our surprise, you love sleeping on your tummy! You love to make a little cooing noise sometimes when you sleep, which is so cute. You even smile and even laugh sometimes in your sleep. Mommy and daddy sure wish we knew what was so funny :)! Since the last time we posted, we all went over to Ammuma and Thatha's lake house for July 4th. We had so much fun with our family and friends and daddy even lit off some big fireworks.

This past week, we went to your auntie's graduation! You had such a great time but slept most of the evening. Also, we had some big news this week Aeowyn. We had an earthquake measuring 3.7! Your mother was up that morning around 5am and came running into the bedroom to tell daddy after the house started to shake! She ran into the wooden penguin in the hallway with daddy waking up, rubbing his eyes, having slept through the whole thing. But it was certainly one of the biggest earthquakes ever in this area.

You have such big pretty eyes -- mommy and daddy often try to figure out exactly what color your eyes will be. Rohin has decided that your eyes will be blue. Your brothers love to hug and kiss on you. This upcoming weekend, we're going to visit grandma and grandpa. We love you so much Aeowyn!

Third week of life!

Sweet little Aeowyn,

We have had an incredible 3 weeks with you and we love watching you grow and change every single day! You just got here but it's as if you've been here with us all along. Daddy took a month long paternity leave which finally ends today. The time has gone so fast! Here's as short run down of all the things you experienced already in your life.

You have been to our backyard to play with your brothers many times. You like to watch Rohin water the plants and Talin practice walking around barefoot in the grass. You have gone to the Clemyjontri playground, Tysons Corner Mall Kid Corner and many restaurants includeing Cafe Deluxe, Norton's, Jackson's Restaurant, Red Robinand Paulo's for father's day. You even went to the Dulles Air and Space Museum. You weren't much awake for any of these excursions, but you were a trooper through it all!

Your favorite thing to do is to be held close and snug. You love cuddling, especially with mommy because it reminds you of your days in her belly. You are such a easy baby because you rarely cry and when you do you are easily consoled with some snuggle time. You love drinking milk! You can take down around 30 onces in a day. You just wish you could remind mommy to stay away from the broccoli!

Mommy loves to carry you in her sling! When you are all bundled up and warm you make cute little cooeing sounds, just like a kitten purring. Sometimes you decide that you only want to be held by mommy. You already sense when someone else is holding you and protest relentlessly until you are given back to mommy. The mother-daughter bond was further solidified this past weekend during your first shopping experience at the mall with mommy! Lucky for your dad's bank account, you were not such a big fan and complained most of the time.

Daddy threw mommy a special birthday party on the 18th and had three talented singers entertain us all! Mommy, Daddy, Ammuma, Thatha, Sadhana Chechi, Usha Chechi, Nisha Aunty, Veena Aunty, Jovin, Nanna and Paca, you and your brothers all sat outside on the deck for this "American Idol" themed event! It was truly spectacular! We are pretty sure that one of the artists, Greg Magee, was so talented that he will be famous one day! Everyone had a chance to rate each artist and comment on their peformance. You loved to hear the music and stayed awake for entire show.

We decided not to take you along with us to Aria's 1st birthday party because you wanted Ammuma to babysit you instead. But we still dressed you up in a cute little pink tutu just for fun! This pink outfit complete with a faux pink fur shrug was the first one mommy ever bought you.

You bring us all so much joy! We love you Aeowyn!

Your 1st week of life!

Well Aeowyn, it's been so wonderful bringing you into this world. We're all so excited to have you finally here! Your big brothers were very excited to see you when you first came home and couldn't even sleep! Rohin gently rubs your head and kisses you. Talin likes to point at you and come and touch you as well. Both of your brothers love to play in your room and Rohin often talks about you and even hands things to you.

In terms of your personality, you're such a sweet little girl. You love to be held and sleep a lot during the day. Your schedule is a little reversed because sometimes you like to get up in the middle of the night. You then just look at us with those pretty eyes. You feed almost every 2 hours and can even drink over 35ml -- which is pretty amazing for your age. You're very alert for your age and can even pickup your head and even track objects sometimes.

Mommy and daddy were so happy to finally get to see you Aeowyn. An interesting note when you were born was that we went into labor at 8:30pm and had you under two hours later at 9:57pm and were 11 days early. We think you were very excited to meet your family!

Also -- so many people who love you came to visit you-- Ammuma, Thatha, Grandma, Grandpa, Usha chechi, Sadhana chechi, Nisha auntie, nana Judy, paka George, Viji auntie, Ashok uncle, Juliana and Jan, and so many others!

That's it for now Aeowyn! We love you so much!
